Someone went through and edited this page to portray the fake persona he attempts to project and removed all of the real information (and the reference links that proved it true)

Truth: he isn't Russian, he's Czech, and the accent is fake. This information is available online and you can tell the accent is fake simply by listening to his early videos (from before he changed his channel name to Crazy Russian), only his current videos use the deep-fake Russian accent he's now known for.

Also he has many new videos showing him living in LA and he's done crossover videos with other youtube channels that have also moved to LA to take advantage of the youtube studios built for professional youtube celebs.

But, if the people editing this wiki would rather have a bio here that worships his fake persona instead of putting up the truth, I'm tired of trying to reedit this and I'm tired of going out and finding the links that prove all of this. So by all means, keep the lies on this page because I'm done fighting with ignorant people over it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.207.150.3 (talk) 03:22, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You realise that wiki articles don't get edited on the basis of angry rhetoric, right? I mean, what are you, a jealous rival Youtuber? I notice an absence of evidence in your post to support your claims. 92.238.238.62 (talk) 19:15, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You need to prove that CRH is a Czech. I have found some articles ([1][2][3]) saying that he is a Czech, but has no proof. -yhynerson1 (talk) 14:47, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Can you prove he is russian?92.209.75.162 (talk) 09:08, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The majority of references say he is, who he says he is. In the absence of evidence, questioning that is an error. surfingus (talk) 17:19, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

He's said before that he's Russian, and that should be enough of a reliable source, especially considering he seems to be able to speak Russian, and he knows what pashtet is. VigilantCosmicPenguin (talk) 07:23, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is he only pretending to be Russian?

[edit]

As far as I can tell the idea that Kulakov is Czech doing a Russian accent act is an unsubstantiated Internet rumor, even though it has been repeated once or twice in the mainstream press. It appears he is actually from Eastern Ukraine near the border with Russian where a large part of the population is ethnic Russians.

He speaks Russian fluently as he demonstrates in this video: [4] In the comments though Russian speakers say things like "you are definitely not from Moscow", "you are a Ukrainian", or "you have a slight Ukrainian accent".

The Russian-language press in American reports on him as one of their own and takes pride in his success. [5] [6] The article in Nashaamerica.com says that "appearently, he emmigrated to American from Ukraine in 2009". The article on Brightonbeachnews.com describes him as a "Russian-American Youtube personality" with an "emphasized Russian accent".

He has a page on Vk.com, a popular Russian social networking site. In postings in 2009 and 2010 he speaks of missing Ukraine which fits in with the assertion that he emigrated from Ukraine in 2009. On March 12, 2010 he says "Best birthday ever!" which fits in with online sources which give his birthday as March 11, 1987.

A Taras Vladimirovich Kukakov with the same birthday legally registered an address of residence in Donetsk which is in Eastern Ukraine: [7] In the videos Kukakov has a brother named Dima (Dimitri). A Dimitri Vladimirovich Kulakov was registered in the same apartment. Since "Vladimirovich" indicates that their fathers are named Vladimir, they are almost certainly brothers.

Claims that Kulakov is only pretending to be Russian are either ill-informed or just quibbling. It is like arguing over whether someone is "Hispanic enough". His native language is almost certainly Russian. It is likely he came to the US from Donetsk where in the 2001 census 38% of the population identified themselves as Russians and 75% named Russian as their native language. If he was born there, he was born in the Soviet Union. His name really is Taras Kulakov. Though he may not have been born in Russia, he has a strong claim to the Russian language, culture, and ethnic identity. The accent, though perhaps hammed up a bit, is his own. Famous Birthdays said he is born in the Czech Republic

[edit]

Is it true or false? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Man's Hat (talkcontribs) 21:17, 12 July 2017 (UTC) It is false. As best I could tell when I looked into it in 2016 the source for the idea he was Czech was an Internet forum where somebody thought his accent sounded Czech. This speculation got repeated and simplified several times on various forums until it morphed into a statement of fact. Famous Birthdays has since corrected the error. Nationality

[edit]

This guy is Ukrainian but considers himself Russian since he said so in a Q&A video that he was born in Ukraine, so stop questioning it. 2607:FEA8:33E0:5D1:C06A:8E80:2C04:BB31 (talk) 21:30, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Second Channel

[edit]

Is there a template we can add to the infobox so information can be added about his other channels. Mn1548 (talk) 15:05, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
