Stradbroke Websites

[edit]

All the links to both Stradbroke websites were removed following edit waring see the discussion see User_talk:Yunshui#Stradbroke_Page.

Stradbroke has two websites (a) Stradbroke Village Website and (b) Stradbroke Online

I would like all page contributors to discuss and agree restoring links to both of these sites but there does need to be agreement on what text to use and there needs to be agreement not to delete the links. My suggested text is:

Under Community Media

"Stradbroke has had a website called the Stradbroke Village Website since 2000 and in 2014 a new website called Stradbroke Online launched."

Stradbroke Village Website Stradbroke Online

In respect of mentioning it as "the parish council website" one of the site's own editors has disputed this and claimed that the site is a private website still. Once the actual status is verified then that should clearly be added. My understanding is that the site is indeed the parish council's website as per this transcript http://www.stradbroke.org.uk/profiles/blogs/website-debate-transcript but User:Nodracol who is an editor of Sradbroke Online posted this on the talk page previously:

Stradbroke Online was developed as a source of up to date information for the village of stradbroke. The existing village website at the time was considerably out of date and, following a period of debate about what to do about it, I and two colleagues decided to develop Stradbroke Online as an alternative private village website. This was launched in May 2014. At the August 2014 meeting of the Parish Council the official minutes state that " (it) was proposed that Stradbrokeonline be adopted as the PC's official conduit (for information)". This motion was passed by 9 votes to 1 with 3 abstentions. Stradbroke Online is still a private website and not the Parish Council's Website, but it is now used by the PC as 'a conduit' for their information to the residents of Stradbroke. Anyone that visit's the site will see that for themselves. Nodracol (talk) 11:40, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[1]

Would welcome a discussion here about the best way forward
