Does anyone know what happened to Springtime? I found some detail on the auction at Southerbies but did not want to pay to learn more.

The Springtime is (at least was on 23. 10. 2008.) in the Metropolitan, I made this photo there. Beside the picture, on the information tableau there was the following closing remark:

Steven A. Cohen

11.173.9

I thought it was the donator's name, but may be it is the owner. --Szilas (talk) 06:51, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Springtime is in the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala (FL) and not at the Metropolitan. The latter's search engine does not return it (but it returns the other painting of Cot, the Storm) while the Appleton Museum of Art shows the painting on page 3 of its partners' brochure. Location of the Ophelia?

[edit]

Does anyone know where this painting is currently? I'm finding it's in a private collection, but that's it.

Any idea where to find higher-res/quality reproductions of it?

There seem to be more than one version on the web, and I can't tell if one is someone else's rendition (since it's on a website offering to manually create a duplicate painting) or another photograph of Cot's in radically different lighting.

Basically, any further info on this, or direction for research, will be greatly appreciated.
