I suggest that the (Glyndebourne) one remains not the (producer) one as:

1. The Glyndebourne text is more extensive and betetr informed.

2. Anyone interested in John Christie will tend immediately to associate him with Glyndebourne, but may not think of him as a producer.

1. When the merger is performed the better article will appear in place of the other one. It is readily apparent that the text of the Glyndebourne article is the better one, and should be preserved (and of course improved).

2. The purpose of the disambiguation is to distinguish several persons with the same name. Normally this is done by profession (see for instance John Brown, John Smith or John Edwards (disambiguation)), with the exception of U.S. politicians it seems.

The best solution would be if there were some way of distinguishing from the others (such as a middle name or initial). This John Christie just seems to have been John (acc to Google). There's a murderer John Christie with initials, and it's Sir George William Langham Christie (Glyndebourne). I prefer John Christie (Glyndebourne) myself as it seems a better description (landowner of Glyndebourne, producer at Glyndebourne), and as the page is already there. Well, the idea is that the disambiguation is to be common enough to be understandable, while being specific enough to be distinguishable. If producer isn't sufficient then John Christie (Glyndebourne) will have to be it. --Oden 16:22, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
