after reading this article, i feel it should be proof-read. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.254.115.98 (talk) 04:29, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed a non-NPOV statements critiquing the movie here below. Wikipedia is not a place for movie reviews by it's contributors. It is NPOV to offer opinions of noted movie critics though. If the following can be rewritten to reference the opinions to a noted critic then it can be put back in.

The plot of the movie is thin and full of holes, and the acting and kung-fu are mediocre, at best. Those who appreciate the movie almost always do so in an ironic fashion, it being one of the movies that's so bad it's good. A minor but often cited flaw with the film is the tendency for the boom mike to appear on screen for extended periods of time. In spite of the movie's overall poor quality, or because of it...

Why is Dolemite not described as a pimp?

[edit]

He is a pimp. His entire existance is defined by this fact. His clothes, his speech patterns, the fact that he manages a gaggle of hoes...

It is the central theme of this film and its protagonist. Why then was this omitted from the entry? It's like reading an article about Mozart that never mentions he was a composer (and instead discusses his favorite foods at length...)

Was someone afraid that mentioning this would be offensive in some way? A) If it's fact, offense should not be taken. B) The makers of the film relished in the fact that it was about a pimp. Why should this entry feel insecure about this?

This glaring oversight completely destroys the validity of the article. It comprimises the integrity of Wikipedia, and of pimp hustlers as a whole. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Creamydeuce (talkcontribs) 21:05, Dec 13, 2006 (UTC)

First off, sign your posts. Second, how is it fact? Is it ever outright said that he is a pimp? Of course any person can make the assumption that he is one, but that doesn't cement it into fact. Some could argue that John Shaft was a pimp, but clearly he was a detective. Just because a man can attract ladies, sleep with them and happens to be street savvy doesn't immediately pigeonhole him as a pimp. It doesn't destroy any validity to the article whatsoever. --71.156.85.133 12:08, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dolemite.jpg

[edit]

Image:Dolemite.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
