Voice at beginning

[edit]

What is the significance of the voice at the beginning of the Monkee's version which says something like "What number is this, Jim? 7A. OK... don't get excited, man. Just cause I'm short, I know." --80.35.22.188 (talk) 02:09, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I swear I have NEVER heard that...in the brzillion times I've listened to this song. Gonna hafta go home and get out some headphones. I guess it's like how, on the umpteenth time I heard the song, I realized that Carly Simon was singing "You had one eye in the mirror as you watched yourself GAVOTTE." Me neither and could not find a version with it. Therefore, I removed it. Sandcherry (talk) 21:57, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously, you're not looking very hard... 15 seconds on youtube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nmxmJ3Fp0k This is the version that I grew up with, on cassette and phonograph.. Luvodicus (talk) 07:43, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also, here's where many people are discussing the in-joke.. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=3853 Luvodicus (talk) 07:48, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Football Song

[edit]

Anyone feel it's worth mentioning that it has become a popular terrace song (especially for Peter Reid? I've found some text from the Peter Reid page I'll add. Lordjim13 (talk) 08:55, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why was Anne Murray deleted?

[edit]

For some reason User:Verdana Bold deleted [1] the entire Anne Murray hit version from the article and all sources that was in her section. He also deleted other things as well. Can someone restore the article to its previous version? Caden cool 16:31, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Horrible.

[edit]

This article is horrible, as is The Monkees article. It reads like it was written by a fan. Here is just one of a million examples- “In fact, Nesmith's lead vocal version of "The Girl I Knew Somewhere" had been left in the vaults on preference to a Micky Dolenz lead vocal when it was issued as the B-side of the single "A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You", so it's very unlikely to have been the case, unless Nesmith had been told this by Colgems to pacify him”.

Both need a major rewrite and citations. 2601:483:101:86B5:45E7:382C:263F:1734 (talk) 03:52, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Personnel

Read somewhere that Jack Nicholson sang harmony on it. 2600:4040:75CF:E400:A409:88FA:3134:88F1 (talk) 20:24, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
