Shooting incident with stalker
[edit]I believe the incident involving Boogie2988 with internet stalker/troll Frank Hassle, which went viral on the day it happened, deserves a mentioning, perhaps in the Controversy section.
The only acceptable source reporting on it is Vice's Motherboard, which isn't the greatest source for information on Wikipedia, but the overall reporting is accurate.
For those who are unaware, the incident is a drama between internet troll Frank Hassle (who doesn't have to be mentioned by name in the article as he's not relevant outside this situation) and Boogie in which Hassle drove to the former's home, demanded him to show himself and Boogie answered the door with a firearm and shot a warning shot. Boogie also uploaded a video on YouTube, discussing the confrontation. 2601:642:4100:820:E4A6:55F3:87BA:2F63 (talk) 10:37, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
Boogie's hometown?
[edit]The article says "After Hassle had made his way down to Boogie's hometown in Abingdon, Virginia" but I thought that his hometown was Fayetteville Arkansas? LaceyUF (talk) 22:07, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
His hometown is St. Paul, Virginia as stated in the beginning of the page. Mrk1024 (talk) 19:13, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
Personally I think the Abingdon VA part should be removed as that isn't his hometown. Mrk1024 (talk) 19:16, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- I went ahead and removed it. I also removed the "unknowingly in a school zone" part since it was not mentioned in the sources linked. Orimono (talk) 05:52, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Ex wife name correction
[edit]Boogie's ex wife's name should neither be corrected to Dez OR Desiree. Her name isn't "Desiree Dez" as it says in the article. Mrk1024 (talk) 19:19, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Mrk1024: made it Desiree "Dez" to reflect Dez as the nickname and not a surname. --Engineerchange (talk) 19:24, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
Name correction
[edit]To be completely honest I don't know if a middle name needs to be included BUT if it is going to be included it needs corrected. His actual middle name is Jason. Mrk1024 (talk) 19:06, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
Cancer
[edit]Should we really add in the part about him allegedly having cancer in this article? Unless there's a valid article that fact checked the reporting on this, I feel it should be removed. I understand this sounds callous, but once you understand the context of how manipulative Boogie can be and how he's been shown to do stunts to garner sympathy in an attempt to push back at controversies and negative attention, it's no surprise that many people are doubtful. 76.102.86.232 (talk) 10:35, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think we have any reason to disbelieve this. At worst we could change it to "William's revealed he was was diagnosed with polycythemia vera..." (emphasis my own). That way we make it clear that it's coming from a primary source, rather than an independent one. That said, I'm not sure it's a necessary change. — Czello 11:21, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- In the new documentary, from 20:25 to 21:59 Boogie lists his confirmed medical diagnoses, and does not include cancer other than history of basal cell carcinoma.

Under ‘Personal life’ it claims Boogie2988 is an atheist while the source used to do so contradicts itself. It actually says, “Grew up Christian. Spent a long time atheist and nihilist. Became agnostic for a while and now consider myself a theist.
I believe in a God. Just don't think any religions know the right one.”
Likewise, there are videos of him adding in religious type sentiments such as ‘judge not yet ye be judged’ etc.
Also early on in the page it includes his bypass. But it does so at a point that does not flow well. During this it mentioned the date of the bypass but not the dates of the other events. It seems misleading because the next thing mentioned is that he graduates high school. As though the bypass happened before he graduated. It appears intentionally misleading. C.D. - Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. interstatefive 05:18, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- As stated previously, under “Personal Life” it makes the claim Williams is an Atheist. The tweet it cites states, “Grew Up Christian. Spent a long time atheist and nihilist. Became agnostic for a while and now consider myself a theist.’
- This does not provide proof he is an Atheist as it claims. In fact I could likely find resources that would prove the opposite. Within many of his tweets and videos he has made biblical references.
- Perhaps there should be a section for his changing religious ideology. That or just a simple correction to the post as I stated previously. C.D. Shells (talk) 16:55, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Change "Steven Jay Williams" to "Steven Jason Williams" in all references to full name, due to it being his real name

- I changed his middle name. I could source where I found it but that would doxx him. Not like his address isn't out there but I'm not adding fuel to that fire. Mrk74 (talk) 00:25, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
