Next oyataka

[edit]

Does anybody know who should be the next Azumazeki oyakata? --Bilderling (talk) 19:45, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Azumazeki indicated to a reporter in Hawaii a couple of years ago that Ushiomaru would take over; however there has been no official confirmation of this yet.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 22:43, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can't believe it's real. This guy isn't charismatic at all. --Bilderling (talk) 12:32, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
His options are rather limited though, as there are no other coaches at the stable. Takamisakari is his only other qualified rikishi but he is still doing fine in makuuchi and unlikely to want to retire just yet.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 16:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can Takamiyama look around his ichimon to fetch better one? Do rules restrict the origin of the candidate? May he seek for sekitori those are not entirely related to the stable? I can't think Ushiomaru is perfect. --Bilderling (talk) 08:29, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In theory any other oyakata could take over. There's even been speculation that it might merge with Nakamura, but it's just that so far -- speculation.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 15:57, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well Ushiomaru announced his retirement after the tournament and he's going to use the Onogawa kabu before taking over from Jesse in June.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 17:29, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
