Martin County High School is a public high school in Stuart, Florida, USA, in the Martin County School District.[1] The school enrolled 2,122 students in a 2024 census.[2] In 2022, it was a "B" rated school through the Florida Department of Education.
The school is home to two signature programs: Cambridge International Advanced Program[3] and the Career & Technical Programs[4] Students are eligible to participate in the Indian River State College Dual Enrollment program to simultaneously earn high school credits and college credits.[5]
Its mascot is the tiger and its colors are blue and gold. The principal is Cristina Selvidge.[2]
Student Enrollment & Demographics
[edit]In 2023, enrollment was 2,122 students in grades 9 through 12. The student body is 57% White, 33% Hispanic, 6% Black, 2% Asian American, and 3% Other. 41.89% of students are receiving meals at Free or Reduced Status. There are 106 teachers with a student ratio of 1:20.[3]
AP, Cambridge, and CTE
[edit]In 2022, 52% of students took at least one Advanced Placement (AP) exam. 25% passed at least one AP exam.
Martin County was named Small District of the Year by Cambridge International Education. The school has an 80% pass rate for the Cambridge program. [6]
The school currently has 12 signature CTE programs, such as culinary, computer science, and photography. [7]
Sports and Clubs
[edit]Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida, offers a range of sports and clubs. The sports teams include football, bowling, swimming and diving, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, cross country, track and field, and wrestling. The school also features an award-winning AFJROTC program with activities such as Aviation Club, Color Guard, Drill Team, and Kitty Hawk Air Society. Students can participate in various art competitions, including the Marvin S. Cone Juried Art Show, and join academic and leadership clubs like the National Honor Society, Key Club, and Student Government Association.[8][9]
