J. A. Kennedy was a businessman, banker, and state legislator in Kansas. He was a Republican. He was born in Ohio. He had a stake in the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad. He married and had two sons.[1]

John Alonzo Kennedy 1849-1919 this would appear to be him. John Alonzo Kennedy Jr.? (1872–1945) who died May 5, 1945 in Emporia, Lyon, Kansas?

He was an incorporator, landowner, and served as postmaster of Highland Station, Kansas which became Sparks, Kansas.[2][3]
