Caused by the death of Alderman William Humphrey Williams (Conservative, elected as an alderman on 9 November 1910)[8] on 11 August 1912.[9] In his place Councillor John Lea (Liberal, Granby, elected 1 November 1911)[10] was elected as an alderman by the councillors on 9 November 1912.
