A question, why is a VoIp program considered essential? It may be nice to have, but is not necessary.

Agreed, in fact VOIP tends to wreck the quality of any podcast.71.234.110.209 05:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Another Question on this line: The centerpiece of any podcasting setup is the computer. It is used, generally, for both the production and distribution of the show.

This is also really questionable. Many people use portable recording devices like the Iriver and Marantz etc for recording. You can now record an upload a podcast from a celular phone as well as many bluetooth/WIFI enabled devices. This is probably old information that should be updated.71.234.110.209 05:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Some changes

[edit source]

This sure needs a lot of work. I've changed a few things. I, for one, think that VOIP does not wreck the podcast at all. I also think that the vast majority of podcasts, and the vast majority of good podcasts, are produced on a computer. Certainly, a field recorder is great, but improvised cell-phone podcasts are pretty awful.

Anyway, this isn't the place for big arguments about aesthetics. Do what you feel like.

A more useful discussion might be what this book is for. Is it a how-to?
