Joanna Ruth, Lady Mann, known as Jo White, is a British Labour Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bassetlaw since July 2024.[1]

Early life

White was born in Stamford, Lincolnshire in 1964. White has an identical twin sister, Deb Davies, who is also a Labour councillor in Newport, Wales.[2]

Political career

White was elected to Bassetlaw District Council in 2012, representing Worksop East ward.[3] White became Deputy Leader of the council in 2015.

In August 2022, White was selected by the Labour Party as their Parliamentary candidate for Bassetlaw[4] and was elected in July 2024.

Personal life

White married John Mann in July 1986 in Leeds.[5] In 2012 she was mailed a dead bird and it was investigated by Nottinghamshire Police.[6]
