Toyota Canada recalls 656 Crown sedans for cameras failing
The front- and rearview mirror cases may allow water to enter, which could short-circuit the camera

Toyota is recalling 656 Crowns in Canada, along with some 13,000 additional units in the U.S., due to a front- and rearview mirror case issue. The affected 2023 models being recalled in North America are equipped with front- and rearview camera cases that may potentially allow water to seep in, causing it to short-circuit the camera.
If this occurs, certain images may display on the screen, which can possibly increase the risk of injuring a pedestrian — though it’s important to note that drivers shouldn’t be solely relying on those cameras to identify surrounding pedestrians, anyway.
Owners will be notified by mail by mid-August, and will be advised to take their vehicle to a Toyota dealership where the serial number of the camera will be checked. If necessary, Toyota will replace it, free of charge.
