Fighting mental health stigma through art in Italy 🎨 To increase social engagement on the topic of mental health, Lundbeck Italia organizes the People in Mind Contest, an annual graphic arts contest aimed at raising awareness about mental illness and combating stigma through painting, drawing, photography, videography, and social commitment. Last year, 299 works of art were collected from all over Italy, including 90 from artists representing associations or centers and 74 from high school students. The finalists then traveled to various exhibitions and other social activities as advocates for mental health. At an award ceremony, 13 winners were announced. During the ceremony, debates with patient associations, expert clinicians, and institutional representatives took place to discuss mental health. Some of the artwork was subsequently utilized in partnerships with hospitals to decorate their facilities, providing both patients and caregivers with a dignified space enriched by art. #Art #MentalHealth #UnitedAgainstStigma

Talking about #mentalhealth in Mexico 🧠📢 In Mexico, 25% of the population lives with mental health conditions. However, only 2% of the national health budget is allocated to mental health, highlighting the need for greater awareness. In 2023, Lundbeck Mexico launched ‘Hablamos (Let’s Talk)’, a special project that collaborates with patient associations specializing in supporting people living with mental health conditions in their rehabilitation and recovery processes. To increase awareness of what it is like to live with a psychiatric disorder, Hablamos collected testimonials from people living in cities like Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara, sharing their touching stories with us. At Lundbeck, we recognize the importance of sharing the stories of people with lived experiences to eradicate stigma and show the person behind the diagnosis. We believe it is vital to provide support to people who cannot access comprehensive care to recover their ordinary lives. This June, our Lundbeck colleagues in the US and Canada have celebrated another Migraine and Headache Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and build a stronger community of advocates. This year, our initiatives in the US kicked off early with a cross-business presence at the New York Yankees Brain Health Awareness Game. Our US and global leaders also joined the Shades for Migraine movement, donning sunglasses to show our support. Additionally, our Lundbeck US colleagues made a strong appearance at the Chicago Miles for Migraine Walk/Run. In Canada, we supported initiatives to improve the quality of life for those living with migraine and other headache conditions. We continued our long-standing partnerships with patient organizations through wellness programs, webinars, workshops, and advocacy activities and awareness campaigns such as Move for Migraine. Additionally, we supported efforts to provide expert guidance and education to healthcare professionals. In recognition of World Migraine Awareness Day, landmarks across Canada were illuminated in purple. Together, we are making strides in addressing migraine and headache disorders. From a team of 100, they’ve grown into a global hub, managing 30 service lines with expertise and dedication. Last week, the team gathered at the historic Aviation Museum in Krakow to celebrate this milestone. GBS Krakow also takes great pride in its CSR initiatives that contribute to enhancing overall well-being and quality of life. This passion translates into projects that extend their impact beyond the workplace. Last year, over 80 employees participated in 6 employee-driven, bottom-up CSR projects. Lundbeck advocates for public-private partnerships in Italy From June 18-20, 2024, Lundbeck joined forces with DI - Dansk Industri, Healthcare Denmark, and the Embassy of Denmark in Italy to inspire a new wave of public-private partnerships (PPP) in the healthcare sector. During our visit to Rome, we showcased the Danish Lighthouse Life Science public-private partnership, a pioneering initiative we’re proudly heading with other industry leaders – currently with a focus on #mentalhealth. Our presentation and panel discussion highlighted the transformative potential of PPPs, using the Lighthouse Life Science (Erhvervsfyrtårn Life Science) as a prime example. We aimed to inspire Italian institutions and key national health service opinion leaders to consider PPPs as a strategic approach to bolster their healthcare system. The delegation visit was a unique opportunity to present Denmark’s strongholds and innovative solutions in pharmaceuticals and medical devices. By sharing our experiences and successes in this area, we hope to pave the way for a sustainable and innovative healthcare service of tomorrow. This morning, Lundbeck hosted a significant event as four key ministers from the Danish government visited our headquarters to unveil a new policy plan aimed at supporting Danish industry and business. This plan included an increase in the R&D tax deduction from 108% to 120%, reflecting our persistent advocacy efforts. We consider this initiative an important step towards future-proofing Danish Life Science. The ministers present were Troels Lund Poulsen, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence; Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Morten Bødskov, Minister of Business, Industry and Financial Affairs; and Jeppe Bruus, Minister of Taxation. Several Danish media outlets also attended to cover the event. The government’s choice to launch their plan at Lundbeck highlights our status as a leading Danish R&D-based company with a substantial impact.
