Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

Developing Future Leaders in Pediatric Critical Care

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin develops physicians who provide compassionate, evidence-based and inquisitive health care in the field of pediatric critical care. 

The three-year fellowship welcomes applicants who share the program’s broad vision of scholarly activity and who seek to develop skills in clinical research, advocacy, ethics, global health, point-of-care ultrasound, medical education, palliative care, administration and management, biomedical engineering and quality improvement.

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is affiliated with Dell Med’s Department of Pediatrics.

Training Facilities

Training is provided by a team of pediatric critical care faculty members in collaboration with advanced nurse practitioners, physician assistants, cardiac intensive care professionals, general and cardiac pediatric surgeons, neurosurgeons and other pediatric subspecialists.

Dell Children’s Medical Center provides acute and critical pediatric care for a 46-county referral area in Central Texas. It is serviced by a 24-hour pediatric critical care transport team and managed by in-house, board-certified pediatric critical care physicians.

The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease is a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin that focuses on heart diseases and defects. The fellowship’s pediatric intensive care unit team works closely with the center to provide care for infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease.
