Hematology & Medical Oncology Fellowship

Training Patient-Centered Leaders in Hematology & Medical Oncology

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is a comprehensive three-year program designed to develop leaders in clinical medicine and research who will transform health care by making high-quality, person-centered, multidisciplinary care the standard for cancer patients. 

The program strives to reinvent how people get and stay healthy by focusing on Dell Med’s goal of a value-based health care system that emphasizes health outcomes. By focusing on outcomes training physicians to improve the overall health of the community, the Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship will expedite innovation and the delivery of patient-centered care.

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship is affiliated with the departments of Internal Medicine and Oncology and the Livestrong Cancer Institutes, all located in the creative and vibrant city of Austin, Texas.

Training Facilities

Ascension Seton Medical Center.

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, the area’s largest medical-surgical acute care center, is a Joint Commission–accredited part of the Ascension Seton Family of Hospitals.

Dell Seton Medical Center at UT Austin.

Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, the primary teaching hospital for Dell Medical School, is the region’s only Level I Adult Trauma Center and functions as the safety net hospital for a diverse population in the city of Austin. Built in 2017 by Ascension Seton on the UT Austin campus, the medical center is part of a growing health district.

The Livestrong Cancer Institutes, UT Health Austin’s home for clinical oncology, uses the CaLM Model of Whole-Person Experience. CaLM stands for Cancer Life reiMagined, and it is specifically designed to ensure that patients and their loved ones have a caring and supportive interdisciplinary team every step of the way through their cancer journey.

Their teams of expert medical professionals have worked with over 5,000 transplant recipients and use cutting-edge research and technology to provide patients with the level of quality, service and care they deserve.

Austin Cancer Center.

Austin Cancer Center offers comprehensive cancer treatment at several multidisciplinary locations throughout Central Austin, Georgetown, Round Rock, Lakeway and Kyle. Offices are staffed with medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, neuro-oncology, and gynecological oncology specialists.
