Professur (m/w/d) W2 for Industrial Heritage Conservation Part-time

The Technische Hochschule Georg Agricola, state-recognised university of the DMT- Gesellschaft für Lehre und Bildung mbH, is seeking to fill the above-mentioned part-time professorship (10 SWS) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at the earliest possible date.

We are looking for:

• Someone who is passionate about teaching and research in the academic world. You will be responsible for providing high-quality education at our university, including the acquisition of third-party funding to achieve this goal. With your commitment, you will support the sustainable transformation of Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences (THGA) and highlight the role of science and engineering in our society.
  
  

The professorship includes:

• Teaching in both German and English-language Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes, especially in the English-language Master's programme "Material Engineering and Industrial Heritage Conservation", also in the evenings and at weekends
• Supervision of student research projects and theses
• Further development and internationalisation of the curricula
• Involvement in applied research and development
• Participation in the academic self-administration of the university
  
  

What you bring with you:

• You fulfil the recruitment requirements in accordance with Section 36 of the NRW Higher Education Act. These include, in particular, a relevant university degree in natural or conservation sciences, pedagogical aptitude, proof of aptitude for academic work (usually through the quality of a doctorate) and at least five years of professional experience, three of which must have been gained outside the university sector. In addition, you will have extensive experience in the characterisation and conservation of objects of cultural and historical value from the industrial heritage. Your profile will be enhanced by activities in conservation science research and good networking with relevant institutions. You will also integrate both sustainability issues and ethical questions into your work.
• In addition to the above-mentioned professional profile, you have an excellent command of English (C1 CFR) which you will use in your teaching. You enjoy working in a team, are empathetic and communicate openly. You are solution-orientated, innovative and enjoy contributing new ideas. You can transfer your enthusiasm for your subject to students.
