Structural Analysis Engineer

Fischer Seats is the market leader for crash-worthy and lightweight helicopter seats. You will be joining a team developing some of the most innovative and lightweight structures for the aerospace industry.

The Structural Analysis Engineer will work within a multi-functional environment and engineering team by improving designs, bringing new ideas into structural analyses, and influencing technical decisions made in multiple ongoing projects.

Tasks:

  • Static and Dynamic analysis of Aircraft seats with Finite Element Analysis in LS-DYNA aligned with aerospace standards and certification requirements
  • Preparation and simplification of CAD data with Solid Edge/NX and Hypermesh
  • Meshing with ALTAIR Hypermesh, Pre- and Postprocessing with LS PrePost
  • Crosschecking complex analysis results with engineering judgment (hand-, code-scripting, and spreadsheet calculations).
  • Develop and validate LS-DYNA material cards using component-level static analysis.
  • Initiate and perform static and dynamic tests to improve simulation accuracy.
  • Evaluation and assessment of results and preparation of detailed technical reports and presentations.
  • Support the design team for new products via data-driven analysis results.
  • Define the scope of the project aligned with stakeholders and provide results tailored to business needs.
  • Optimization of structures with regard to mass, strength, and stiffness.
  • Interaction with project stakeholders (internal and external) to optimize the designs and interfaces.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, or similar qualification
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in a stress, FE and/or CAE engineering role, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • At least 3 years of professional working experience performing dynamic crash analysis preferably in the aircraft seating sector or aerospace industry.
  • Strong background in explicit Crash Analysis using LS-DYNA
  • Strong background in Altair Hypermesh and LS-Prepost.
  • Strong background in Python.
  • Knowledge in material testing for characterizing and developing LS-DYNA material cards.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace specifications and standards (CS27, CS29, AS8049B, ARP5765B, etc.)
  • Knowledge of relevant Part 21 requirements and procedures.
