Position Summary: Under general supervision, responsibilities include planning, scheduling, directing, application engineering, procurement, field installation, start-up, and close out of assigned projects. Ensures projects are effectively executed within budgeted cost, time schedules and ensure positive cash flow. In addition, position is key interface with the customer and responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects.
Job Complexity/Revenue Expectations: Minimal Risk or Complexity/ <$1M
What you’ll do with:
- Manages on site, oversees and coordinates many aspects for projects from award through completion of project, including: overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget as required by the contract. Prepares project installation plan, manages the plan and prepares and implements job procedures. Represents the business in client and site meetings and takes/owns actions
- Translates a variety of customer needs / requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans to meet Customer requirements; reviews and approves estimated costs prior to bid; provision of technical assistance to sales force as and when required; supervision of project design engineering; supervision of installation labor and subcontractors; preparation of project schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, project invoices; assists with collections on projects.
- Effectively communicates project requirements to project team and wider organization as and when required and maintains accurate and up to date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Identifies and escalates potential project risks and develops/implements strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
- Proactively communicates project schedules, project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis with customer and seek to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies, services and controls necessary for timely and cost effective completion of project within budget. Manages on site Contractors/Installers.
- Establish project milestones and analyze costs; Exposure to financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and to provide timely and accurate project cost reports; identify reasons for low job site productivity and determine impact on the project; adjusts or corrects project plan and/or project cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals.
- Manage the execution and review of all scope of work, terms and conditions in customer contracts including cost control, delivery fulfillment, and quality of service and other customer requirements as they arise.
- May perform limited range of managerial responsibilities including but not limited to: mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues; planning, assigning and directing work
What You’ll Need
- management skills related to Project Management.
- Orientation – Actively seeks ways in which to act as a role model, guide, develop and mentor others within the Operations Department; Strong team leadership, team building and facilitation skills.
- financial analytical skills including cost control.
- Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Power Point skills.
Requirements:
- Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
- Minimum Experience: 3-5 years operations, service or field or project management
- Previous project supervisory
- Preferred Experience: (but not required):
- Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare
