Commercial Excellence is a function within our global sales organization that works closely with the sales leadership to support and optimize sales activities. Its primary mandate is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales organization by driving sales excellence initiatives, improving sales processes, providing sales analytics, managing sales technology (e.g., CRM, e-commerce), guiding sales deployment, and enabling sales teams.

As the Senior Director Commercial Excellence (f/m/d), and as a part of the Sales Leadership Team for the Materials Solutions Division, you will partner with the regional sales leaders to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our sales organization by providing central expertise, support, and control for sales projects/programs and sales analytics & reporting with focus on Sales Enablement, Pricing, and Transformation Management. Your priorities include the following.

  • Lead business process ownership for sales-related processes, optimizing workflows and implementing best practices.
  • Define and track sales metrics/KPIs, analyze data to generate insights, and provide dashboards and reports to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and implement global pricing strategies, support ongoing pricing activities across the division, and provide transparency on pricing.
  • Develop and manage sales technology and automation software, particularly the customer relationship management (CRM) system and the e-commerce platform.
  • Drive Sales Capability development initiatives, including org design & development and target setting and administration of the Sales Incentive Programs for Materials Solutions Division
  • Work closely with the regional sales teams to operationalize the segmentation model. This includes defining and updating the segmentation strategy, ensuring adherence, tracking performance, providing guidelines, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Govern and optimize the forecasting process end-to-end to ensure high forecast accuracies.
  • Systematically gather data on customer experience for various sales channels and provides insights to the sales organization on improvement opportunities.
  • Lead Sales Projects across regions or may provide appropriate project support by assigning their team to the project/s.
  • Manage team performance and provide appropriate development & coaching support to team, as required.

  • Experience in successfully executing change projects
  • Previous experience in leading/managing large projects and initiatives spanning multiple geographies
  • Completed degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualification
