Project Finance Analyst

We specialize in the development, financing, engineering, and construction as well as the operation and maintenance of commercial and utility-scale solar installations. We are seeking a skilled Finance Analyst based in Germany to join our team and focus on project finance for solar projects in Germany.

Responsibilities:

Project Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis for solar projects, including creating, updating and evaluating financial models, conducting due diligence, and preparing investment proposals. Assess project feasibility, risk, and potential returns to determine project viability.

Financial modelling and Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models to analyze project economics, cash flows, and investment returns. Create accurate financial projections to support investment decisions and identify areas for improvement. Support in creating financial reports every month for internal and external stakeholders.

Capital Structure and Funding: Assist in structuring complex financial transactions for solar projects and on the corporate level, including debt financing, equity financing, tax equity, and project partnerships. Collaborate with various stakeholders to secure funding for solar projects in Germany.

Risk Assessment and Management: Identify and assess financial risks associated with solar projects. Develop risk mitigation strategies and provide recommendations to optimize project financial performance. Monitor market trends and regulatory changes impacting project and corporate financing.

Due Diligence and Documentation: Support due diligence activities, including conducting financial analysis, preparing investment memos, and coordinating with legal and technical teams. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports and analyses to monitor project performance. Provide insightful financial recommendations to senior management based on analysis of project portfolios.

Qualifications

Project Finance Knowledge: Familiarity with project finance structures, including knowledge of tax equity, debt financing, and incentives specific to (solar) projects in Germany.

Communication and Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and investors. Ability to present projects and complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.

Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial concepts, investment analysis, and financial modelling. Proficient in financial evaluation techniques such as NPV, IRR, and Sensitivity Analysis.

Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical skills to evaluate financial data, perform due diligence, and identify investment opportunities. Attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in project finance or related roles; experience within the renewable energy industry is preferred.

Language Skills: Fluency in German is a must. Fluency or high proficiency in English is a must (at least C1 level)
