Klang Games Berlin, Germany

Klang is a game studio exploring the future of humanity through various forms of media. We aim to present deep, meaningful subjects in a way that's captivating, easy-to-digest and entertaining for all ages.

At the heart of Klang is Seed, a large-scale, persistent virtual world that we believe will redefine the MMO landscape and have a positive impact on our species.

We aspire to bring people together through engaging media experiences and by building strong communities.

It's a super exciting project, but in order for us to achieve a goal like this we are going to need a lot of help! From people just like you.

We're in search of a Creative Director (f/m/d) who can play a pivotal role in creating, what we believe, will be the first MMO of its kind.

Who would you be working with?

As the Creative Director at Klang, you oversee the broad creative vision across the Design, Art, Sound, and UI teams. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that the SEED vision is cohesively translated into every element of the game, providing high-level creative direction that aligns with strategic experience and narrative goals. You will work alongside the UX/UI Director and Art Director, who directly manage their respective teams, to harmonize design, art, sound, and user interface to reach our overall product vision.

  • Translate the SEED product vision into clear, actionable design strategies that resonate with both the design team and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director, UX/UI Director, and Audio teams to define and maintain the artistic, auditory, and interface standards that align with SEED's vision.
  • Champion the SEED vision through strategic leadership and regular presentations across the company, ensuring all creative efforts contribute coherently to the game's development.
  • Adapt and refine creative strategies based on player feedback and analytics to continually enhance visual, auditory, and interface elements.
  • Foster an innovative atmosphere within all creative departments, encouraging creative risks to keep the game ahead of industry trends.
  • Drive overarching creative OKRs in alignment with Klang's top-level objectives and contribute strategically to the company's success.

Who Are We Searching For?

  • You have extensive experience as a Creative Director, ideally with a background in leading multi-disciplinary creative teams in the gaming industry.
  • Demonstrated capability to provide strategic creative direction across multiple design domains, including Art, Sound, and UI.
  • Proven track record of synthesizing game design with aesthetic and functional elements to enhance player immersion.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other creative leaders and stakeholders.

Bonus points for:

  • A strong portfolio that includes leading innovative projects within multiplayer, management, sandbox, and simulation games.
  • Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies applied in creative settings.
  • Experience in fostering continuous engagement through live game operations and content updates.
