Our Consumer Goods Division is dedicated to helping brands, retailers and manufacturers worldwide deliver safe, quality and ethically made products to their consumers. Every day at work, our inspectors, auditors, and lab techs use their expertise to help safeguard the products you use every day in your home: from clothes and footwear to toys and baby products, to electronics, appliances, and furniture.

Job Description

We are looking for a Business Development Manager with an interest in international trade.

Your Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager identifies potential customers and is responsible for active new customer acquisition as well as building and maintaining long-term customer relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and repeat business. The BDM is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service and represent the needs and goals of the customers within the organization, particularly in the following areas:

  • Identification of potential customers and active new customer acquisition: Research and identify new business opportunities and targeted customers to expand our network.
  • Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and repeat business: Attend to customer needs and build long-term, trustful relationships.
  • Conducting sales presentations, negotiations, and contract closings: Present our products/services and negotiate with potential customers to secure contracts successfully.
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets: Create and execute strategies to reach sales and growth objectives.
  • Regularly monitoring and analyzing sales data to identify trends and make adjustments in the sales strategy: Analyze sales performance and adjust strategies to maximize success.
  • Close collaboration with internal teams such as marketing and product development to optimally support sales: Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer requirements are met and sales goals are supported.
  • Participation in relevant networking events and industry trade shows to expand the customer base: Represent the company at events to make new business connections and maintain existing relationships.

Qualifications

  • Completed studies or comparable training in a commercial/technical profession or corresponding further education.
  • Proven experience in sales, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Result-oriented mindset and ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Persuasiveness and enthusiasm to convince customers of our products/services.
  • Independent working style and ability to act autonomously.
  • Willingness to travel to conduct customer visits.
  • Very good English and German language skills, both written and spoken (company language: german).
  • Preference for candidates with proven professional experience in a comparable role.
  • Background in the TIC industry (Testing, Inspection, Certification).
