Our client is a prestigious American headquartered asset manager, and one of the world’s largest investment management companies globally. Due to continued company growth and expansion, they are now seeking a high-caliber Business Development Associate to join their high performing institutional team on a permanent basis.


Working in one of the firm’s priority markets, and reporting to the Head of Institutional Business for Germany & Austria, the Business Development Associate will take on the following responsibilities:.


  • Generating and participating in client meetings
  • Securing meetings with potential new clients (institutional)
  • Representing the firm at industry conferences, proactively networking during the event and following up afterwards
  • Proactively managing matters relating to winning business (such as expediting fee discussions)
  • Work on the development of a specific group of clients
  • Market research on target firms
  • Identifying new areas for business development
  • Involvement in the sales strategy and planning
  • Preparation of management reports to reflect the new business effort
  • Be part of a broader EMEA Distribution group committed to expanding the firm's presence across Europe


The Business Development Associate will meet the following criteria:


  • 1.5 years’ – 3 years’ experience working in the investment management industry
  • Experience working in one of the following disciplines: sales, sales support, client service, business development
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience in winning new business
  • Experience of presenting in a professional sense
  • High energy, hard-working and enthusiastic
  • Fluent in English; native (or equivalent) in German
