Our client is a prestigious American headquartered asset manager, and one of the world’s largest investment management companies globally. Due to continued company growth and expansion, they are now seeking a high-caliber Business Development Associate to join their high performing institutional team on a permanent basis.
Working in one of the firm’s priority markets, and reporting to the Head of Institutional Business for Germany & Austria, the Business Development Associate will take on the following responsibilities:.
- Generating and participating in client meetings
- Securing meetings with potential new clients (institutional)
- Representing the firm at industry conferences, proactively networking during the event and following up afterwards
- Proactively managing matters relating to winning business (such as expediting fee discussions)
- Work on the development of a specific group of clients
- Market research on target firms
- Identifying new areas for business development
- Involvement in the sales strategy and planning
- Preparation of management reports to reflect the new business effort
- Be part of a broader EMEA Distribution group committed to expanding the firm's presence across Europe
The Business Development Associate will meet the following criteria:
- 1.5 years’ – 3 years’ experience working in the investment management industry
- Experience working in one of the following disciplines: sales, sales support, client service, business development
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven experience in winning new business
- Experience of presenting in a professional sense
- High energy, hard-working and enthusiastic
- Fluent in English; native (or equivalent) in German
