Accountant

We are recruiting for a Business that deals in real estate and has a few buildings in Berlin. This person will be the main accounting person in Berlin, reporting into the CFO of the Group based in the UK.

Location: Berlin (Hybrid)

Salary: € 65 000 – 70 000 + Bonus.

The Role:

You will be managing 2 - 3 of the German entities. This is an all-encompassing accounting role where you will be responsible for all the transactional finance matters and reporting the financial information through to the HQ in the UK. Working with the Head of Operations to drive the financial performance while taking ownership of building cost budget / forecast. Driving the revenue, book revenue and costs so that they are in line with the monthly trading. You will be responsible for the VAT and Tax returns, AP/AR, month-end closing process from P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliation, managing payroll, dealing with their system Datev, and reviewing the bookkeeping and processing payments.

The Person:

• We are needing candidates who are fluent in English, but could be conversational in German
• Bachelor’s degree in a Finance-related subject or equivalent (Qualified by experience)
• Strong German VAT experience, accounts payable, receivable and balance sheet recs/month end experience
• Strong knowledge of HGB accounting ideally
