The right-wing AfD now wants an assessment of the handling by the German government of the coronavirus pandemic. WHY? What did we discover during the pandemic? We found out that Germany has one of the best healthcare systems in the world, with one of the highest densities of ICUs. In fact, German hospitals even welcomed many Covid19 patients from other countries. I was glad to be in Germany during the pandemic, especially if I consider how other countries fared during this crisis (e.g. Italy, Spain, France, China, Russia, the USA, even Sweden, Switzerland or the Netherlands - not always due to bad management on their side). The German population acted responsibly, overall they stuck to the rules and (except for some laggards) got vaccinated quickly. Oh, yes, keyword "vaccination": an unknown German company BioNTec developed an RNA-based vaccine in record time, and through a strategic cooperation with Pfizer, turned that into an economic success story. Overall, we should be proud. So, the whole idea of this assessment is a waste of time and money - which could better be invested in preparing for the next epidemic (birdflu perhaps?) and vaccination programs for existing diseases like measles. 🚀 Conclusion of the First Week (out of 12) of My AI Consultant Training 🚀 What an amazing time! The first week was packed with positive energy, lots of fun, and valuable insights into prompt design and high-level LLM insights. And the best part? The great network and the wealth of knowledge among the participants! 🌟 In recent weeks, I had some exciting conversations about Generative AI (GenAI) and its application fields in business. Here are my top 3 learnings: 1️⃣ GenAI applications should not only be driven by IT – The business side needs to lead and take responsibility here. 2️⃣ Decision-makers and key players in the company must have a real understanding of GenAI – Half-knowledge is not enough to make informed decisions and fully harness the potential. 3️⃣ GenAI is just plain fun – You meet so many people with a positive attitude and drive, making working in this field incredibly rewarding. 😊 I’m looking forward to the upcoming weeks and am excited about the additional insights, learnings and connections that await!

Your future. What about it? This is what I hear people saying: - I want something else or something more - I am not fully clear about what exactly or how to get there - I am so busy that I do not have the time to do something about it One thing is clear: tomorrow is built today. Truth is: - change does not happen overnight so the sooner you start, the better. Today is a good day. - exploring is taking action and is a good way to get to clarity - no outstanding achievement has ever been accomplished without an initial step: that first action is key no matter how small it may seem - your daily choices and even small decisions, they all contribute towards building your future - it might not be comfortable: this is a good sign - you might not have hours, but you surely can find minutes. Block the time in your calendar: make it an appointment with your future and make it non negotiable By making the time and taking action you will thank yourself tomorrow. Absolutely agree with this insightful article. With 20 years in leadership hiring and mentoring, I've seen that top leaders excel due to their soft skills, not just hard skills. While analytical ability and operational excellence are crucial, soft skills like empathy, active listening, and self-awareness are key for top performance. Here are three examples from my experience where CXO candidates were rejected due to a lack of these soft skills: 1. CFO: Despite top financial expertise, this candidate lacked empathy and effective communication, raising concerns about team cohesion. 2. CMO: Great strategic vision and analytics, but struggled with vulnerability and learning from others, crucial for adaptability. 3. CTO: Technically brilliant but lacked self-awareness and caring communication, essential for inspiring a diverse team. These examples show that leadership is an ‘inside out’ job. Cultivating soft skills through self-reflection and awareness is essential for long-term success.
