Innovation in Practice at the University of Stuttgart | School of Management 💡 At the University of Stuttgart | School of Management, we are always eager to take on exciting practical challenges. That's why we're particularly thrilled when our master's students get the chance to engage with real-world innovation as part of their final theses. We're delighted about the teaching collaboration between our faculty and the Klingele Paper & Packaging Group. This partnership enables two of our master's students to explore the application of emerging technologies in the context of a real organization. Enno Schwenk is investigating how Artificial Intelligence can be meaningfully leveraged within the Design Thinking innovation methodology to drive business model innovation. Meanwhile, Felix Schöllkopf is researching the acceptance of the Metaverse in the paper and packaging industry. These fascinating research projects have been made possible thanks to the engagement of our faculty member, Florian Härer. We're excited about this fantastic opportunity for our students to create a win-win-win situation for our research and the Klingele Paper & Packaging Group, and we look forward to more inspiring collaboration projects in the future! #WIUS #UniversityofStuttgart #Innovation #ResearchCollaboration #MasterThesis
#Klingele #Innovation #Masterarbeit #KünstlicheIntelligenz #KI #Metaverse #DesignThinking #AI #Forschung

A professor can love football! ⚽ 🏆 🥇 Our Professor Christina Kuehnl had a meeting with Gerald Asamoah and talked to him about Europe's home tournament: UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany! #EM2024 #Sommermärchen #Fußball #National11 #footballfever
UEFA EURO 2024 ⚽️ #EM2024 My students know my (lack of) enthusiasm for football very well since I regularly use the #Sommermärchen (i.e., the World Championship 2006 in Germany) as one of my prime examples to explain situational involvement. To be honest, I am less interested in this sport except when a championship takes place in Germany. I am lucky to add another great example to this list: I met the former national football player Gerald Asamoah who was a panelist in the German Ambassy in The Hague discussing "The home match for Europe". Meeting Gerald Asamoah in person was truly inspiring as he made the entire room laugh despite the serious topic of discrimination and antisemitism in football. I cannot image a better and more authentic ambassador for Germany! Thank you Gerald Asamoah for being such an outstanding ambassador for the UEFA EURO 2024, the German Ambassy in The Hague for hosting the event, and the German International School in The Hague (DISDH) for spreading the invitation. Enjoy an entertaining and peaceful Championship in Germany! 🙌 #EM2024 #Sommermärchen #Fußball #National11 #footballfever

🎯🚀 New paper from our faculty Dr. Christian A. Mahringer (University of Stuttgart | School of Management ) with colleagues Dr. Kathrin Sele (Aalto University) and Jun.-Prof. Dr. Anja Danner-Schröder (RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau)! 🎯🚀 The authors examine how restaurant #Nolla, which is based in #Helsinki, recreated their organizational routines that were disrupted through the lockdowns induced by hashtag #Covid-19. They find that embodiment, the human body in its environment, plays an essential role within this recreation process. The research is particularly relevant in times of #crisis, as it unpacks the process of resuming operations in detail. The paper has been published in Journal of Management Studies, a leading journal in management and organization studies. It’s out! 🎉📚🌱 Happy to share my latest research with Jun.-Prof. Dr. Anja Danner-Schröder-Schröder and Dr. Christian A. Mahringer in the Journal of Management Studies. In our study, we unpack the role of the lived body in routine recreation in extreme contexts. We examined Restaurant Nolla, a zero-waste fine-dining restaurant in Helsinki, during the COVID-19 pandemic and find that ‘embodied connection work’ plays an integral part in actors’ attempts to establish new ways of operating. Specifically, we show how this active process of making connections between actors and actions consists of embodied imagining and embodied protecting—two interrelated practices that enable the reintegration of stakeholders and the reassembling of what matters to them. I want to thank Albert Franch Sunyer, Carlos Henriques, Luka Balac and the entire Nolla family for welcoming me into their lives during a very challenging moment. Watching you engage with the world with care and passion was formative way beyond this study. 🙏 Link to paper: https://lnkd.in/dFbVKES6 #nolla #ethnography #embodiment #zerowaste #extremecontexts #disruption #routinedynamics #covid19 #pandemic #sustainability
