📢 First Publication on the Application of Tunable, Comb-Locked Lasers for cw-THz Spectroscopy Our colleagues from R&D teamed up with the group of Dr. Dominik Walter Vogt, The University of Auckland / New Zealand, who is one of the leading experts world-wide in the field of high-resolution THz spectroscopy, especially with so-called whispering-gallery-mode resonators (WGMRs). In the publication – published in renowned APL Photonics – two diode lasers at 1.5 µm were locked to a TOPTICA frequency comb. One laser remained at a fixed frequency, the second one was tuned while stabilized to the comb, using our proprietary "endless frequency shifter" scheme. The combined signal of the two lasers served to generate and detect cw-THz radiation. The presented results clearly highlight the potential of the novel THz frequency-domain spectrometer based on a comb-locked frequency synthesizer. S.
