Happy Friday, everyone! It’s time to slow down and reflect on the last few days. Just over a week ago, we kicked off the first-ever "Science & Startups – der Gründungspreis der Berliner Sparkasse," and wow, what a success! In the beautiful sunshine at Berlin’s Wannsee, we celebrated some truly amazing science-based startups. 🌞 Big shoutout to our winners:  🥇 MOXZ  🥈 UniWearables  🥉 Factor4Solutions GmbH  👏 Audience award: SHIT2POWER But let’s not forget all the fantastic nominees: dvlp.energy, MucosaTec, Quouch, Talonic, and YouCan! You made it to the finals, and you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved so far! We had about 200 guests as well as many VIP speakers, including Dr. Ina Czyborra, Senator for Higher Education and Research, Health and Long-Term Care. Thank you for your ongoing support from day one! Seeing the three university leaders of our Science & Startups alliance—Prof. Dr. Julia von Blumenthal (HU), Prof. Dr. Stephan Völker (TU), and Prof. Günter M. Ziegler (FU)—on one stage, discussing their support in creating a common Startup Hub, made the event even more special. A huge thank you to our expert jury—Eve Büchner, Madlen Dietrich, Günther Pätz, Marcia Schranner, and Christian Segal—for selecting our top winners. And of course, thanks to everyone who voted for the audience award. The most outstanding science-based startups of the past year were awarded jointly by Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. In contrast to the status quo, where vital data is recorded by nursing staff once per shift, continuous monitoring can make a significant contribution to identifying early trends and thus preventing complications and even death. In addition, the automated recording and storage of data in the patient file relieves nursing staff of some of their workload and allows them to concentrate on their core tasks.
