Very stable and very manoeuvrable," is how the owner Longship Group describes the SCHOTTEL propulsion system after delivery of the first and launching of the second of four E-class ultra-low emission ships. In cooperation with the Dutch naval architect Ankerbeer b.v., Longship has developed an innovative ship concept that brings emissions up to date for this series of four vessels built by Atlas Shipyard. The ultra-modern, fuel-efficient main propulsion system will reduce fuel consumption by around 45 per cent compared with currently dominant ship types of a similar size. SCHOTTEL is the proud supplier of two EcoPellers type SRE 430 L azimuth thrusters and one STT1 FP tunnel thruster for each vessel. Thank you for your trust! SCHOTTEL Nederland: Sebastian Sachs new Managing Director, Ewoud Hooymans now Sales Director | Sebastian Sachs has been appointed as the new Managing Director of SCHOTTEL Nederland with effect from 1 April 2024. He has now officially taken over from his predecessor René Lange. Sebastian will be supported by sales specialist Ewoud Hooymans, who will assume a larger area of responsibility in the operational business in his new role as Sales Director. In a record-breaking year for SCHOTTEL, 77 colleagues out of 11,232 runners crossed the finish line for the company run "B2Run" in Koblenz, Germany. What an amazing achievement! Before and after completing the 5.4-kilometer course, the colleagues from all departments across the company enjoyed being together and immersing themselves in the excitement of the event, which saw around 600 companies from the entire region in attendance. B2Run always takes place on the last Friday in June, and this year the weather was again absolutely perfect for this great event.

BOTA TECHNIK new partner in Poland | SCHOTTEL and the Polish company Bota Technik have signed a cooperation agreement in the areas of after sales service and new sales with effect from 1 January 2025. On this date, Bota will take over the new sales business in Poland from SCHOTTEL’s long-standing agent P.H.U. Afra, while it is mutually expected that Bota's after sales service for SCHOTTEL products will start earlier. “The service agreement with Bota now enables us to offer our Polish customers short transport routes for overhauls and workshop activities. Bota will have SCHOTTEL-trained personnel as well as direct OEM support at their disposal,” explains Michael Sabel, Head of Field Service and Repair at SCHOTTEL. The cooperation with P.H.U. Afra as an agent for SCHOTTEL began in 2005. "Poland is a very important market for SCHOTTEL. This article looks at innovative strategies for reducing emissions from tugboat operations, focusing on a recent initiative led by TOWPRO SAC. The initiative involves state-of-the-art diesel-electric hybrid systems, such as SCHOTTEL's SYDRIVE, and represents a progressive leap towards the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies in the maritime sector.

SCHOTTEL will equip a methanol bunker vessel that will sail between several ports in the Mediterranean region with two SCHOTTEL RudderPropellers type SRP 360 and one SCHOTTEL TransverseThruster type STT 1. The San Giorgio del Porto SG 116 will have a length of 91.3 metres and a breadth of 15.7 metres, with a carrying capacity of 3,400 dwt. The vessel owner is an Italian company based in Genoa that specializes in new green technologies. The ship is currently under construction at San Giorgio del Porto Shipyards in Italy.
