Our first product, Zwobbel® 1020, can solve a crucial problem: the limited positioning speed of the Z-axis in laser processes. In this way, we pave the way for high-quality AND fast laser material processing. We have proven that vertical spot oscillations (dynamic beam shaping) can reduce dross formation in laser cutting by a factor of two while doubling cutting speed. Is your process limited by light focusing speed? Imagine what you can achieve with a full stroke in less than 2 milliseconds. 𝙎𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧? We offer robust solutions with up to 8 kW of laser power (CW) and the highest peak powers. We're pretty sure we offer the fastest z-axis in this power range. How is that possible? By using a novel optomechanical technology, expert knowledge in control design and electronics, our systems are faster, more power stable and more compact than comparable products. The 𝗭𝘄𝗼𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗹®-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 enables new processing methods in laser cutting, laser welding and laser hardening as well as the development of new processing fields in micro-structuring and additive manufacturing. We are also developing other professional fields for our high-power-capable Zwobbel®-technology in the fields of laser and quantum communication. 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 We are excited to collaborate within the UKP2micron - UKPino project with various industry partners in the field of #micromachining. One key challenge we are tackling is integrating our technology into diverse, custom-specific applications such as commercial cutting robot systems. To achieve this, we have equipped our Zwobbel-mirror with manual tip/tilt capabilities, enabling precise optical alignment in robotic systems. This is crucial as the movement of the robot arm generates significant acceleration, and maintaining a stable position throughout the entire processing time is essential. Additionally, this feature has been designed to integrate seamlessly within a small footprint. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀? When cutting thin sheet metal with robots, poor accessibility often limits performance. By increasing the nozzle distance, we can significantly enhance accessibility and flexibility in process control. Our experimental evaluation of the dynamic beam shaping tool demonstrated an impressive 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. This is quite a success! 𝐎𝐖𝐅: 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 The second day of this year's #OWF started for me with Robert Habeck's keynote. I found the subsequent discussion to be open, constructive and therefore profitable. In general, I always find it positive when there is time for a detailed exchange and other perspectives are taken on board. This is not only due to the fact that complex topics cannot be explained quickly without neglecting important aspects. The #deepdive entitled ‘DeepTech start-ups as drivers of innovation in Eastern Germany’, which I had the honour of attending today, followed a similar approach. After an input from Sebastian G.M. Händschke and Jan Klaiber, various perspectives were presented in a relaxed roundtable discussion in order to obtain a holistic picture. Roman Kleindienst as a representative of established industry, Euneso Yi as a representative of korean Start-up supporters, Kevin F. and myself as startup founders. It was important for me to raise awareness of the fact that SMEs and research institutes can play an important role for Start-ups as part of their market validation, especially in eastern Germany. In my view, subcontracting to young companies is a good instrument where everyone can win and the risk remains manageable. Existing players can use this tool to create their clients of tomorrow! But the OWF2024 is not over yet and I am looking forward to the evening, the networking and already looking forward to the ‘Working Breakfast’ tomorrow before heading back to #dailybusiness.
