Sales! Sales! Sales! Our sales department was joined by a new talent: Caroline. Since May she filled the position MICE Sales Manager North. Her focus will be on the northern regions but she’s still responsible for all our hotels. She has a lot of expertise in MICE, acquisition, and price negotiations which she will now use to increase our corporate business. Extraordinary venue for extraordinary events! To show that they appreciate their employees many companies organize summer as well as Christmas parties. Every year (usually) the HR department looks for a great destination and venue. Why waste food if there‘s a better alternative? Some of our hotels have been testing Too Good To Go and so far the results are rather great. “I’m absolutely convinced that taking part in this program is worth it – not only because of the positive environmental aspect. The handling of the app is super easy and even though we pay a small usage fee our bottom line is still positive”, said Martina Eroes. Our 𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 started using the app in August 2023. Thanks to this they were able to save 437 Surprise Bags and avoid 1.18t CO2 emissions. 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐣𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫, Operations Manager of our 𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲, said: “From my own experience, I’m an app user myself, it’s really well received. We often get asked if we could offer even more bags. Sadly, we can’t because there just aren’t more.” Our hotel in Hanover was able to avoid 2.3t CO2 emissions and save 852 Surprise Bags since September 2023. Beach party! Our 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐫 – 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 took place last Thursday. A full success! Our 60 guests and colleagues had a great time, and no wonder with such an amazing program. It started off with the first highlight: a chartered ship, the 𝘒𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘵-𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦 𝘎𝘌𝘙𝘋𝘈 2.0 from 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘯-𝘔𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘳. Our participants were picked up at 𝘚𝘵. 𝘗𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘪 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘣𝘳ü𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯 and got their exclusive tour to our 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠, soon to be the 𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫. On the breathtaking trip to our hotel our guests were entertained by a accordion player who sang songs from Hamburg. Many a person sang along. 😊 With such a great start to the event we needed more highlights, of course. And we had them: 👉 Live entertainment by singer Gisele Abramoff and cartoonist Stefan Wirkus. 👉 A tombola with great prizes 👉 Delicious culinary delicacies and drinks 👉 Site inspections to show what our hotel in Hamburg has to offer Luckily, the weather was on our side too, and we had a wonderful evening. We’re looking forward to doing it again next year. “I had the pleasure to organize this event and am very happy that it turned out this well. Our guests and our team had a great and fun time. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… launch! In June we launched our brand-new website for our Super 8 by Wyndham hotels in Germany. Not only does the website look magnificent (in our opinion), it also transports the guest experience into the digital world before you even checked in. In collaboration with Bestes Pferd im Stall and Netgenerator GmbH Webdesign Berlin we developed an innovative web design with expressive fonts and 3D animation. Focus of the new website is the guest experience. A streamlined and intuitive menu structure serves as a digital guide and leads the users through the offers effortlessly. Thanks to the integration of Paraty Tech’s booking engine the booking process was accelerated and simplified. Additionally, hotel guests can book their events and group reservations on the website directly. “I’m very thrilled to have this comprehensive, multi-property, and state of the art website finally launched. The web design is playful as well as appealing. With this step our exemplary Super 8 by Wyndham product in Germany will be more visible. Our guests will also have an enjoyable experience using the new website”, said Kerstin, the driving force at GSH for this complex and time-consuming project. We’re very proud of the result! We can’t change that.   What we can do is give our colleagues some tools to compensate for this stress.   Since the summer of 2022 they can apply for the EGYM Wellpass membership which we subsidize.   From swimming pools over Tai Chi to massages this program offers many opportunities for relaxation and to do sports. The Austrian and Suisse powerhouse: Hakan Usal. For over a year now, we had the pleasure of Hakan working for us as the Regional Manager Austria and now additionally as the Regional Manager Switzerland.
