The conventional aseptic fill & finish process for vials and cartridges hides operational costs generated by inefficiencies of upstream operations (washing and depyrogenation).   Both processes are known to cause defects like breakage or particle contamination at primary packaging containers. By transitioning to Ready-To-Use (RTU) solutions, these inefficiencies can be effectively eliminated by process design: RTU fill & finish lines using pre-sterilized products does not need any washing or depyrogenation providing a streamlined fill & finish process with a reduced number of defect modes. RTU technology not only mitigates the risk of container damage but also helps to reduce investment cost with a simplified fill & finish process. Ongoing advances in drug development are bringing to market highly targeted therapies for treating #cancer or #autoimmune disorders that can be administered subcutaneously instead of intravenously. Subcutaneous injection offers advantages that include faster and less invasive administration, and the potential to facilitate patient self-administration. After 28 years of dedicated service to our company, Gerresheimer bids farewell to a valued executive Niels During Pedersen as he has decided to seek new adventures as investor and advisor. “Over the years, Niels' strategic vision has been instrumental in numerous global projects and initiatives that have significantly influenced the growth and success of our company. I would like to thank Niels most sincerely for his many years of service, his commitment, and his continued loyalty to Gerresheimer. Above all, I wish him good health and personal well-being in his new phase of life”, says our CEO Dietmar Siemssen. Niels During joined the plastics industry in January 1996. He became Managing Director and shareholder of Dudek Plast in Vaerloese, Denmark. Following the acquisition of Dudek Plast by Superfos, he was appointed CEO of the Plastic Division. Since Gerresheimer acquired the company in 2006, Niels has successfully led our primary packaging plastics business unit.  After the Gerresheimer acquisition of Dudek Plast on January 1, 2006, Niels took lead in creating Primary Packaging Plastics. In this period the company developed from a Northern Europe focused firm to a true global player with 10 plants in 4 continents. Under the umbrella of the leadership development program “Quarterback”, Niels and his team developed a clear strategy, culture, and values within Primary Packaging Plastics. His Gerresheimer journey has been marked by numerous achievements and contributions that have left an indelible mark on our company.
