📢 How can surface morphology change selectivity in electrocatalysis? The Theory Department at the Fritz Haber Institute has recently unveiled the significance of #catalyst morphology in determining the outcomes of #electrocatalytic reactions. Published in Nature Catalysis, the study analysis sheds light on how the surface 'roughness' of catalysts can influence the selectivity for several key technological processes. It challenges the conventional focus solely on the atomic-level nature of the active site, proposing that the physical form of the catalyst plays an equally pivotal role in optimizing electrochemical processes. This new perspective opens up exciting avenues for the design of more efficient catalysts, potentially revolutionizing how we approach and develop technologies for sustainable energy. #FritzHaberInstitute #Catalysis #ResearchandDevelopment https://lnkd.in/edexYnzn
