Recently Daiichi Sankyo España held its second edition of #MetacardioDS, a sustainable innovation event where they looked at the future of #CardiovascularHealth. The aim of the event was to help professionals understand how new technologies and #ArtificialIntelligence (AI) are going to change the cardiovascular diagnosis landscape. AI is set to revolutionise cardiology in the next decade, from optimising diagnostics to individualised care. In addition, studies based on cardiac interventions using virtual reality (VR) have grown significantly. During the event, the team presented the #DoctopediaXR platform, an extended reality training platform that will help healthcare professionals gain practical skills in a safe and controlled environment. Studies show that adopting new technologies, especially VR, include numerous benefits and improve the efficiency of medical trainings3 and we are proud of #DaiichiSankyoES team’s commitment to innovation. #DaiichiSankyoEurope

Melanoma skin cancer is the sixth most common cancer in Europe and accounts for around 4% of all new cancer cases. That’s why, as Ultraviolet (UV) Safety Month begins, we would like to highlight some key information on the causes of skin cancer, and the importance of being aware of UV safety for your skin. Exposure to UV radiation is the leading cause of skin cancer. There are two types of UV radiation; UVA and UVB, and it is important to protect your skin from both. While there is increased likelihood of skin cancer from certain risk factors, such as age, natural skin colour and family history, many skin cancer cases could be preventable. Stomach, anal and laryngeal cancer are types of #RareCancers. Rare cancers are not as common meaning fewer people have them, less is known about them. However, what makes cancer rare? 🤔 ✔️A cancer might be rare because it started in a different type of cell than usual ✔️Because it is a subtype of more common cancer ✔️ Because it is in an unusual part of the body for that type of cancer ✔️ It’s rare if it affects a child or a teenager. Cancer only affects a very small number of children and teenagers Rare cancers affect less than 6 per 100,000 people by year and we believe that it’s important to share knowledge about them. #DaiichiSankyoEurope
