    Using CO2 as a raw material? The RECO2NWERT project, which BABOR BEAUTY GROUP is involved in, researches how industries can use CO2 as a valuable raw material. Over the next four years, ten project partners will work closely together to find ways to make carbon emissions usable. Reducing carbon emissions is one of the key priorities in the company's planet strategy. Until 2025, it wants to reduce its emissions by 50%. With a reduction of 47% in 2023, the company is close to achieving its target. "However, we cannot yet avoid all emissions,” says Co-CEO Horst Robertz. “That is why we are extremely interested in learning how to biotechnologically bring those emissions to new use. We are proud to partner with this innovative project.” With the RECO2NWERT project BABOR BEAUTY GROUP is supporting the development of an industry that functions without any fossil raw materials. Thank you to all partners joining: RWTH Aachen University, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Fraunhofer-Institut für Molekularbiologie und Angewandte Oekologie IME and CLIB - Cluster Industrielle Biotechnologie, that unites many research institutes and companys.

    Laura Bramstaedt appointed as Vice President Global Expert Concepts & Services at BABOR   Laura Bramstaedt has been promoted to Vice President Global Expert Concepts & Services. She is now responsible for evolving the brand’s global strategies for its partners in the professional skincare channel and oversees its hotel spa business, education department, and center for studies and applications.   “Our strong anchor in professional skincare is one of our key differentiators. In Laura’s new position, her responsibilities form an umbrella to ensure an outstanding experience when visiting one of our professional touchpoints.     Happy Birthday, Jutta Kleine-Tebbe   BABOR BEAUTY GROUP congratulates the company’s “Grande Dame”, second generation owner Jutta Kleine-Tebbe, to her 80th birthday!   Jutta Kleine-Tebbe is 18 years old when her father Dr. Leo Vossen buys the cosmetics start-up, then known as “Biomedizinische Kosmetik Dr. B”. Her father’s entrepreneurial decision influenced her own career choice: she decided to study business and became an aesthetician. After completing her training, she joined the company and has devoted her energy to it. She built a professional training department and pushed ahead with the first steps towards internationalization. In 2000, she became Chairwoman of the Board and led the company into the new millennium.   She has been enjoying her well-deserved retirement since 2014, but still is involved in charity projects. Jutta Kleine-Tebbe herself says this about her birthday: “It is hard for me to believe that I am 80 years old. I am very grateful for the life I have been able to live with my family and the BABOR family.”   To mark this special birthday, BABOR BEAUTY GROUP’s team has created a special gift: a very personal video message and a special ampoule edition that is a homage to her and company's early days.

    BABOR advent calendar is Cosmopolitan's All Time Favorite On behalf of the BABOR team, Pia Faulseit, Marketing Director DACH, received the Prix de Beauté at Restaurant Edmondo in Hamburg. Cosmopolitan magazine already announced the winners in the magazine. Now, it was time for the award ceremony. BABOR's exceptional product was decorated with the award as all-time favorite, a product that has become an integral part in our skincare routine. The award was presented to Pia Faulseit by Suzana Dulabic Kolik who told the story about how she started out as a young journalist and the advent calendar was one of the first beauty products to land on her desk. The advent calendar of BABOR BEAUTY GROUP’s flagship brand BABOR has become a highly anticipated skincare highlight during the holiday season.

    BABOR BEAUTY GROUP invests in research   BABOR BEAUTY GROUP modernizes and more than doubles its research and development space. Co-owner Isabel Bonacker: "The BABOR BEAUTY GROUP stands for Made in Germany. This starts with research. In our own laboratories, scientific teams put on their lab coats every day to create the best possible formulation. Our own laboratories are essential to ensure that we are always at the forefront of innovation."   In the new laboratory, workflows are optimized thanks to improved room layouts. In addition, the workstations are designed to be lean, i.e. efficient and employee-oriented. In addition to the research laboratory, there is a weighing center where ingredients can be weighed to the milligram, an integrated warehouse for more than 1000 raw material samples, and a room for the Chemspeed research robot, which the company uses for researching new ingredients and developing new bases, known as "prototyping." In the future, most formulations for the Group's creams, serums, and lotions will be developed in this laboratory - around 400 product formulations per year.   "The laboratory is the heart of product development. With decades of expertise, we combine scientific know-how and the latest knowledge of skin physiology to select the most effective active ingredients. These can be plant extracts or biotechnologically derived active ingredients," says Co-CEO Horst Robertz. "We are very proud that we have the entire value creation process in our own hands. That's why the laboratory also has glass walls. This transparency is important to us. Anyone visiting us can see what Made in Germany means to us."   The research laboratory is one of five laboratories in the BABOR BEAUTY GROUP. Around 50 experts work in the entire scientific area. They are involved in conceptual design, product safety, and efficacy studies. The laboratory expansion is another building block in the family company's growth strategy. After production and logistics moved to the new, ultra-modern site in Eschweiler, space for the new laboratory opened up at the headquarters.

    A while ago, BABOR BEAUTY GROUP welcomed a delegation from the Deutscher Bundestag. Catarina dos Santos-Wintz, Gitta Connemann, and their teams visited the company to learn about its growth and sustainability efforts and discuss challenges. Co-CEO Stefan Kehr welcomed the group at the headquarters in Aachen and the new production site in Eschweiler to show the latest developments.  "This open line of communication is important. We need to make sure we understand each other's needs and challenges to shape the future of our companies and this country together," says Stefan Kehr. BABOR BEAUTY GROUP is an employer to more than 1.000 people and has strong roots in its home region. With the new production site, the company is actively shaping the region's future as it is going through structural change. BABOR BEAUTY GROUP built its factory in a former mining area. Now, it is the location of a modern skincare factory operating according to high sustainability standards and offering attractive jobs.
