I think it is time for our #MIMO wireless community to seriously reflect on the usefulness of posing very complicated optimization problems to be solved for every #instantaneous fading realization. In the industry, even a simple instantaneous channel matrix inversion can cause panic among engineering and business units. If we truly want to provide practical algorithms, we must find new approaches. To this end, in this series of papers, Emil Björnson, Renato Luis Garrido Cavalcante, Slawomir Stanczak, and I propose a new #two-#timescale formulation for joint power control and beamforming design. Our approach offers strong optimality guarantees while mitigating many of the scalability issues of the classical methods in the literature. We look forward to hearing your opinions, either online or in person at one of the upcoming conferences! L. Miretti, E. Björnson, S. It has been our pleasure to showcase the #6GRIC Project at the 6G Conference 2024 in Berlin! Thank you to our 6G-RIC experts & partners for a successful participation at the #6G Conference: We presented 18 demos within the six working groups, discussed and brainstormed on further collaborative research papers & technology demonstrators. Prof. Slawomir Stanczak had the pleasure of moderating two visionary sessions: "Beyond Metal: The Future of Robotics Powered by 6G" and "Future Research Topics." The first session explored the groundbreaking intersection of robotics and advanced 6G network technologies. Highlights included Dr. Frank Hofmann's in-depth analysis of the unique requirements for robotics, Prof. Frank Fitzek's exploration of exciting applications enabled by wireless communications, Prof. Christian Wietfeld's compelling demos showcasing the synergy between communications and robotics, especially in predictive resource allocation for enhanced spectral efficiency and reliability, Thomas Staufenbiel's insights into the benefits of open interfaces for networked robotic applications within the Open RAN framework, and Prof. Stefanie Speidel's discussion on the role of 5G and 6G in developing intelligent surgical assistance systems through the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence. The second session focused on future research topics beyond 6G. Highlights included Prof. Gerhard Fettweis identifying a clear trend towards the Internet of Chemistry, Dr. Zoran Utkovski emphasizing the need for developing next-generation AI to reduce energy consumption in communication networks, and discussions on sub-THz communications and the integration of communications and sensing. These sessions provided a wealth of insights into the future of robotics and network technologies. Thank you to all the speakers and participants for their engaging contributions! Kudos to our speakers and session chairs: Prof. Slawomir Stanczak, Prof. Dr. Stephan ten Brink, Thomas Magedanz, Prof. Marina Petrova, Prof. Gerhard Fettweis, Dr. Silvio Mandelli,Prof. Ingmar Kallfass, Dr. Zoran Utkovski, Frank Hofmann, Frank Fitzek, Christian Wietfeld, Prof. Stefanie Speidel, Michael Epp, Dr. Thomas Staufenbiel, Norman Franchi, Joachim Sachs, Andreas Mueller, Dr. Muslim Elkotob, Tilo Heckmann,

Did you know how versatile electromagnetic waves are? Not only do they form the basis for #WirelessCommunication, but they can also sense physical information from the environment. Check out our new video by Dr. Michael Peter, Dr. Ramez Askar, Sven Wittig and Rodrigo Hernangómez. They tell you more about their latest development, a platform for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) in the D-Band (110-170 GHz). The platform’s large available bandwidth allows us to recognize human activities and track their position accurately. https://lnkd.in/dkEYGkt4 This work has been conducted within 6G-RIC Research and Innovation Cluster funded by Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung in the program “Souverän.
