I am a biotechnology student I need to detect copper ii ion in 100 samples in my thesis and I cant use ICP or AAS for all of them. How can I make a valide copper(ii) detector ?( based on this article)(https://doi.org/10.3390/s21041099? I dont know if I can use this. or do you know any valid colorimetry way to quantify copper in range of(10-50mg/l)?

$\begingroup$ The paper you linked should not have seen light of the day (meaning don't waste your time on this paper). Find better colorimetric methods in the literature and your supervisor should guide you. $\endgroup$

  • $\begingroup$ If you can't use spectroscopy, are you allowed to use color change in a reagent? There are copper assay kits, e.g., sigmaaldrich.com/US/en/product/sigma/mak127 $\endgroup$ Commented Jul 5 at 23:03
