ANYbotics is a fast-growing tech company dedicated to shaping the future of mobile robotics across multiple industries. Join our highly talented and motivated team of more than 130 people and work on cutting-edge robot technology.
The Opportunity
We are exploring the use of foundation models for online learning and task adaptation in robotic manipulation. Our robots operate in complex industrial environments that are subject to varying operating conditions. Under these settings our robots need to be adaptable yet reliable at all times. Hence we are looking for a graduate level intern that will explore the use of foundation models for manipulation in complex industrial environments.
Your typical day will revolve around parsing literature in the state of the art, writing code, working with open source foundation models and evaluating them in simulation environments for robotic manipulation. You will also have to develop novel algorithms for online learning and task adaption leveraging these foundation models. We are well aware that open source software and models are not always easy to work with and/or reliable. So the going will get tough, but the right person will be dedicated and focused on overcoming these barriers and passionate about having REAL IMPACT on one of the world's most advanced robotics platforms.
You will be closely working together with the Head of Manipulation, Sr. Director of Robotics and other senior engineers who will provide you with guidance and mentorship. The preferred starting date is August and the initial duration of the full-time paid internship is six months, with the possibility of extension.
Market & Our Technology
ANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality and consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics mechanical hardware.
