It is our first industrial-scale demonstration plant for the production of synthetic fuels from solar energy. ⛽ We will now continue to commission the plant to start fuel production soon. 📣 Plant DAWN: Construction update 🏗 We’re thrilled to share the latest update on the construction of DAWN, our industrial-scale solar fuel plant. 🌞 The heliostat field at plant DAWN has been installed, ready to focus the sunlight onto the receiver at the top of the tower to generate solar process heat for the production of solar fuels. 💡 The in-house developed heliostats are specially designed to be coupled with our solar receiver to produce solar process heat to drive solar fuel production. 💪 DAWN is our first industrial-scale demonstration plant, located in Jülich, Germany. With DAWN, we demonstrate the viability of the Sun-to-Liquid technology with concentrated solar thermal energy at relevant scale. We're happy to announce that Synhelion and Pilatus Aircraft Ltd enter into a strategic cooperation with the aim of accelerating the scaling of solar fuels for aviation. The Swiss aircraft manufacturer wants to use Synhelion’s solar fuels for its own flight operations and also offer them to its customers in the medium term. This week, our CEO & Co-Founder, Gianluca Ambrosetti, participated in a plenary at the annual Summit of the ITF - International Transport Forum. The ITF is the world’s largest gathering of transport ministers and the premier global transport policy event. The theme of the 2024 Summit is “Greening Transport: Keeping Focus in Times of Crisis”. Participants focus on the role of the transportation sector in environmental sustainability, assess the impact of climate, health, and geopolitical crises, and address the urgent and existential need to reduce carbon emissions from transportation. In the plenary session “Energy for transport: toward a just and sustainable transition”, Gianluca and the other participants discussed the importance of sustainable fuels, electrification, and renewable energy and the role of cross-sector collaboration and policy measures to shift toward a more sustainable transportation sector. #synhelion #solarfuels #sustainablefuels #sustainabletransportation #ITF24
