Back in June, 7-year-old transit enthusiast Nicco Di Mauro got the chance to do the announcing on a northbound Barrie Line GO train. The video of him making the announcements garnered hundreds of thousands of views online, and Metrolinx invited him for a special station tour to spend a day at Willowbrook Station. There, he got an up-close and personal look at the inner workings of the locomotives and train coaches that get us where we need to go. Wait… weren’t those tracks just a little to the left? 🤔 Your eyes aren’t tricking you if you’ve travelled on the Lakeshore West line or by car across this level crossing on Burloak Drive in Burlington lately. We’re building a new train bridge, also known as a grade separation, to support more frequent two-way, all-day GO service on the Lakeshore West Line. Crews had to shimmy the tracks over just a bit to make room for the bridge construction. This gives us the space to allow trains to continue running along the Lakeshore West line safely at the same time as we build. Thank you to the community for your patience as we work to bring GO Expansion to the Lakeshore West line. . . .

Today, I marched alongside our Pride 365 employee resource group, allies, families, and friends to celebrate the richness, diversity and creativity of 2SLGBTQ+ communities. This year marks the 12th consecutive year Metrolinx has participated in the Toronto Pride Parade.   Thank you to our Pride 365 employee resource group for providing our 2SLGBTQ+ employees and allies a safe space to connect, share experiences, and learn from one other, and helping us to create an equitable and inclusive workplace. Delivering on our mandate is only possible when we include diverse voices at the table and reflect the people and the communities we serve.   We look forward to participating in further Pride events this summer, and keep an eye out for our ‘Pride. Every Day. Always’ wrapped GO Bus that will continue to serve customers across the region until June 2025.   Happy Pride!
