Canada’s Pattison Food Group faced a complex optimization task: streamline workforce scheduling across 58 stores, each with unique labor agreements and dependencies. By working with D-Wave’s professional services team to develop a hybrid quantum optimization solution, the grocery chain was able achieve an 80% reduction in scheduling time and ensure a consistent workforce scheduling process. We can hardly believe it’s already been one month since our annual #Qubits24 conference. We asked Murray Thom, D-Wave's VP of quantum technology evangelism and emcee of the event, to reflect on what he felt were the highlights biggest takeaways. This year’s conference spanned commercial quantum computing adoption through to the latest product and scientific breakthroughs that are helping drive performance improvements for customers.
