The proliferation of OSINT has revolutionized how information is consumed and analyzed. By utilizing OSINT, the INR aims to enrich intelligence assessments, inform policymakers, and strengthen diplomatic efforts. 🏆 Strategic Goals of the OSINT Strategy: Establish Governance and Policy: The strategy focuses on developing robust policies and procedures to ensure the effective and responsible use of OSINT. The Department of Homeland Security will take a central role in President Biden's update to a decade-old policy directive outlining the government's new approach to addressing critical infrastructure resilience, including the development of a nationwide plan for risk management informed by work at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency and sector-specific agencies. The conversation continues regarding the US Army Innovation Exchange Lab (IXL), which "will enable faster digital technology adoption by providing a cloud-based environment for facilitating industry collaboration," per deputy assistant secretary Jennifer Swanson. As noted in this article by Naomi Cooper in ExecutiveGov, "The IXL enables industry and software developers to test and evaluate their software tools’ interoperability with the Army’s Unified Data Reference Architecture 1.0" (UDRA). Among the goals of UDRA are enabling rapid development and avoiding vendor lock-in. Kinetic Data's DXP was developed to meet those needs. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through its Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), has introduced the Universal PatchinG and Remediation for Autonomous DEfense (UPGRADE) program. The move works to bring together equipment manufacturers, #cybersecurity experts, and hospital staff to develop a tailored and scalable software suite for hospital #cyberresilience. The UPGRADE program effort intends to secure whole systems and networks of #medical #equipment to ensure mitigations can be deployed at scale. The UPGRADE platform will proactively assess potential vulnerabilities by examining digital models of hospital environments to identify software weaknesses. Upon detecting a threat, an automated remediation process, such as applying a patch, can be initiated. The remediation is then tested within the model environment and deployed seamlessly to the devices in use within a hospital, minimizing disruptions.
