There is a request to add an opener field to the BrowsingContextInfo type which allows to retrieve the browsing context that actually opened the current one. With PR 664 on the WebDriver BiDi repository we have an implementation suggestion.

Given that new browsing contexts as opened via the browsingContext.createContext command always opens a new tab and window with noopener we are currently blocked on bug 1891670 to get this feature added.
