I'm trying to select a series of faces in a pattern like this:

I was hoping someone on here had a more efficient way of doing this sort of thing without having to select each face manually.

$\begingroup$ Maybe you should more anticipate how to model your object, how does your reference object look like? $\endgroup$

  • $\begingroup$ Hello. It's still cumbersome but I think you'll get there faster by selecting everything and ALT + SHIFT + click on face border to deselect every other column and row $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ Sounds like the job for an array modifier rather than manual modelling $\endgroup$ Commented Jun 5, 2023 at 10:26

I know this is old but I think you could use Ctrl+Shift++ (select/next active) to select one every x faces, with a bit of luck you'll need to do it only 4 times.

$\begingroup$ Maybe rather select columns, rows, then invert. $\endgroup$ Commented Jun 8 at 18:45
