👀 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 Last week we had the pleasure to welcome five German businesses to Australia as part of a Pharma and Biotech Delegation organised by Germany Trade & Invest and the Markterschließungsprogramm (MEP) - Exportinitiative Gesundheitswirtschaft. The delegation was conducted through our Health and Life Sciences Cluster - German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. At the start of the week, we were able to collaborate with Investment NSW to host a German-Australian Pharmaceuticals and Biotech Conference at the Sydney Startup Hub. The five participating companies were able to showcase their company profile and portfolio in front of industry professionals and also gain some valuable insights from experts here in Australia and the current health landscape. The five companies went on to meet various businesses, potential partners and distributers across Sydney and Melbourne before everyone parted ways again late Friday afternoon. Thank you to our delegates from CG Pharma & Biotech, Helixor Heilmittel GmbH, IQVIA, Serum Life Science Europe GmbH, and YUMAB GmbH for trusting us and coming all the way from Germany to explore new business opportunities here in Australia. It was an insightful week for all of us and we look forward to hearing about exciting partnerships and collaborations evolving from this delegation. It was a pleasure to hear from Dr Juergen Guldner, General Program Manager for Hydrogen Technology at BMW Group, about the journey to develop the BMW iX5 Hydrogen fleet and to learn more about the long-term commitment of BMW to get hydrogen passenger vehicles on the road. The role of Finance Professionals is ever changing, which makes our CFO Circle a great platform to discuss the current landscape of Finance and the role of a Chief Finance Officer. Throughout our discussion, the following stood out: 💥 Chief Financial Officers are increasingly adopting a value-centric approach to their work and this represents an evolution towards a Chief Value Officer role, away from a traditionally financially focused remit. 💥 Time spent on processing and reporting is decreasing, while time spent on advisory and business partnering, systems improvement and the adoption of lean processes is increasing. 💥 When streamlining activities, start by eliminating what you can, simplifying what remains and finally consolidating similar activities or information.
