Transforming workplaces

About us

We spend nearly a third of our lives at work. Your client’s workplace should not remind them of the conveniences and comforts they have left at home. At AWM we live and breathe the Australian workplace. Founded in 1993 by Anthony Scotts and Ric Lewarne, AWM has grown from humble origins in a household garage to one of Australia’s leading corporate furniture and joinery companies. We proudly design and manufacture our commercial furniture and joinery in our Fairfield factory in Sydney, NSW, giving us the ability to service the commercial construction industry with a speed and flexibility few others can match. At AWM we never sit still and are always looking forward. We are constantly testing, designing, and refining our products to transform the modern workplace. Having innovation always on our minds led us to design and develop the 2021 Good Design Award-Winning Drum + Base range. Looking forward also means we are constantly looking at ways to leave our country (and the planet) in a better state than we found it. 95% of the materials used in our furniture and joinery are sourced domestically, and we work with our suppliers to have the majority of our materials used to be recyclable. Through our partnership with the Kari Foundation and AWM Amaroo, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of young Aboriginal people through education, mentorship, training and employment. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, superior quality, sustainability and ability to offer the best lead times in the industry. We love nothing more than a challenge, and we are renowned for working closely with designers, builders or project managers to deliver customised solutions on time, on budget and to exact Australian standards. • KARI Games - Naidoc celebrations. What an incredible day! Thanks to KARI for organising such a memorable event and to our team for coming along to support this event. We kicked off NAIDOC Week by participating in the KARI Games, recognising that our learning about Indigenous culture, history, and values is an ongoing process. Our Indigenous Director, Daniel Manson, a proud descendant of the Arabana people, consistently reminds us of the importance of staying true to our values and making a real difference. This commitment is reflected in our continued partnership with the KARI Foundation. We had an awesome team consisting of the following: Grace Lawrence & Alice Haworth Wool+Hay, Angela Pearcy & Veronica Poussin PMG Group, James Hamer FDC Construction & Fitout , Liam Sharpe Humanscale, Anthony Scotts & Daniel Mason [AWM AMAROO Directors]. The KARI Games provided a unique opportunity for cultural immersion and fun, reinforcing our dedication to understanding and honouring Indigenous heritage. The day started with Troy Dargan a proud descendant of the Gumbaynggirr People performing the welcome to country and giving us some insight into history. We made a traditional quiche using Emu Egg, which was absolutely delicious (if you can believe it, one Emu egg is equivalent to 12 chicken eggs!). We then had a trivia session, which really exposed everyone’s limited knowledge of recent Aboriginal history. After that, we enjoyed a beautiful lunch. Then, we all got involved in creating our own piece of Aboriginal painting, each telling a traditional story. Ours was based around the Emu. We moved on to spear throwing, boomerang throwing, and then tackled the difficult task of lighting a fire with sticks. Our partnership with the KARI Foundation is just one way in which we strive to make a positive impact in the Indigenous community. Through this collaboration, we have been able to participate in events like the KARI Games, Swim School programs and Kindergarten backpack initiatives. NAIDOC Week is a reminder for us to keep this commitment at the forefront of all that we do, Acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land where you live and work, and pay respect to their elders past and present. Understanding and acknowledging this history is a crucial step towards reconciliation. #NAIDOCWeek #CulturalImmersion #AWMAMAROO #KARIGames #IndigenousCulture #MakingADifference

  • Celebrating 8 Years as Platinum Partners with Humanscale. It’s been an incredible 8 years of partnership with Humanscale, and we wanted to take a moment to thank Bob King, CEO of Humanscale, for sharing his inspiring story with our Sales team today. As we celebrate our 8th year as Platinum Partners with Humanscale, we are reminded of the importance of collaboration in achieving true innovation and design excellence. At the core of Humanscale' s philosophy is the belief that good design improves people's lives, and this ethos has been evident in every product they have created. The partnership between Humanscale and Niels Diffrient, one of the most influential designers of our time, is a testament to this belief. Together, they have revolutionised the way we think about ergonomics and workplace wellness, resulting in products that not only enhance productivity but also promote overall well-being. But it's not just about the products – it's also about the people behind them. We are grateful for the opportunity to work closely with Bob and his team, whose passion and dedication have been instrumental in making Humanscale a leader in the industry. Bob, your insights into the innovation and dedication behind Humanscale have deepened our appreciation for the brand and its mission. We are proud to be part of your journey and look forward to many more years of shared success. #Humanscale #Partnership #Innovation #DesignExcellence #NielsDiffrient #Ergonomics #WorkplaceWellness #Collaboration

  • We're thrilled to share an exciting project that showcases the power of transforming workplaces to foster teamwork and innovation. Nickaz Australia recently engaged AWM AMAROO to reimagine the new work environment for a leading global investment company in North Sydney. Designed by the talented team Wool+Hay, this space beautifully captures the essence of the city skyline with the use of natural timbers and exquisite lighting. The modernised offices are not just visually stunning but are also functionally designed to encourage collaboration and enhance productivity. This transformation underscores our commitment to creating inspiring work environments that meet the evolving needs of today's businesses. With the rise of remote work and virtual teams, it's more important than ever to have a physical space that fosters teamwork and innovation. At AWM AMAROO, we believe that workplace design plays a crucial role in shaping company culture and driving business success. As such, our team worked closely with Wool+Hay to understand their unique needs and create a tailored solution that aligns with their brand identity. The result is a dynamic space where employees can come together to share ideas, collaborate on projects, and feel energized by their surroundings. From open-plan workstations to comfortable breakout areas and state-of-the-art meeting rooms Check out the incredible results and see how we’re shaping the future of workspaces! #WorkplaceTransformation #OfficeDesign #Teamwork #NorthSydney #Nickaz #AWMAMAROO #WoolandHay
