I've made USB stick with LUKS+ext4 by standard Ubuntu's Disks app and used it 1-2 years, everything was fine. But one day Files (Nautilus) hang, after few tries of ejecting / unmounting USB stick I've just pulled it out. Some time after that (and few reboots in between) this stick looks like normal USB stick with exfat and a lot of files of 1 GB named 1.h2w 2.h2w 3.h2w etc. It mounts okay, behave just like usual stick, but where is my data and encryption?! It doesn't ask for password at mounting, no sign it was encrypted at all.

sudo cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sdb luks_USB says: Device /dev/sdb is not a valid LUKS device. (and the same for /dev/sdb1)

fsck and e2fsck say there is bad magic number in super-block and suggest to do e2fsck -b 8193 <device> but I'm afraid. Please help!
