This exciting educational experience gives students from a variety of disciplines front-row access to South by Southwest’s new extension down under, including exclusive conversations with thought leaders, networking events, and so much more!

About SXSW Sydney: SXSW Sydney celebrates the convergence of Screen, Tech, Innovation, Music, and Games, offering a unique opportunity to connect with fellow peers and businesses who are optimistic about the future and excited about their role in shaping it!  A hub for discovery and innovation, the event delivers over 1000 panels, talks, meetups, mentor sessions, demos, gigs and screenings to more than 100,000+ people. Over seven days and nights, witness disrupters in action, be part of meaningful conversations, and see global leaders, emerging talent and Hollywood luminaries live on stage.

SXSW Sydney Intensive Details

2024 Program Dates: Sunday, October 13 – Monday, October 21

Application Deadline: September 10, 2024

 

Program Fee:

$3,795 if paid by July 31, 2024
$4,250 if paid by September 20, 2024

 

Program Fee includes:

  • Premium festival accreditation
  • Eight nights of shared accommodation in Sydney
  • Daily breakfast
  • Welcome dinner
  • Ground transportation in Sydney


Flight/Travel Arrangements:

Participants are responsible for their travel arrangements to and from Sydney, Australia.

Application Requirements

Completed applications are reviewed by The American Pavilion Selection Committee on a rolling basis. Candidates who meet all of the requirements for admission will be contacted for an interview and notified of a decision on a first come, first served basis.

Candidates are encouraged to apply early as the program can fill up quickly.

Conditions of Acceptance

If accepted into the program, a non-refundable deposit of $1000 is due within two weeks of acceptance to hold your spot.

The balance due is determined by when it is paid:
$2,795 if paid by July 31, 2024
$3,250 if paid by September 20, 2024

All fees are non-refundable. Please note that we cannot accept checks.

Failure to comply with the above stated conditions will result in being put on the waiting list or forfeiting your place in the program.

 

Program fees are non-refundable. Acceptance can be deferred to a future year only if participation is not possible due to travel restrictions, date change, or cancellation by the Festival.

Adherence to all COVID-19 safety protocols will be required. Depending upon conditions at the time of travel, this could include proof of vaccination/boosters, masking, and/or frequent testing. We will keep participants updated regarding policies and safety measures put forth by the CDC and the Festival organization.
